Community is at the heart of what we do. From our community projects to festival pop-ups, our free events and our school programme, we want to share how shifting to a sustainable lifestyle can save you money, improve your health and wellbeing and is extremely rewarding.
Plastic waste weaving Peter Hills primary
"One of the biggest privileges of working with Sunny Jar Eco Hub over the last couple of years has been seeing the genuine impact they are making in their communities, making sustainable, low-waste and environmentally friendly lifestyles accessible, achievable and affordable. Their zero-waste nights (always sell-out events) and workshops are brilliant in showing participants how small and simple changes in their own lifestyles can make a big difference to the wellbeing of the planet and they do this in ways that are engaging and, crucially, fun! Together, Maud and Linda are a dream to work with and their commitment and dedication to making long-lasting environmental change from a grassroots level is inspiring and motivating."
Beth Watton, Artistic Director of Poplar Union
Plastic Free poplar
Over the next 2 years we will work around Chrisp Street market in Poplar, East London raising awareness on single used plastics and support the local community to come together to create an action plan leading to practical solutions to reduce plastic waste and carbon emissions.
Plastic free Poplar is part of the Just FACT project supporting community led climate action in Tower Hamlets. Partnering with local residents and community organisations, this ambitious new project coordinated by Women’s Environmental Network, will focus on reducing the environmental impacts of our food system.
If you live or work in the Poplar (E14) area and would like to be involved in our project, we are looking for volunteers and community eco champions, so get in touch by dropping us an email.
Join our mailing list and keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook pages for free low waste and plastic free workshops dates and events!
