About The Event
One washing load of clothes could be shedding up to 17 million tiny plastic fibres.*
This April, join us as we talk about plastics in clothing and the subsequent microplastic pollution in our waterways when we wash them. We will be also leading a clothes-mending session, so bring your clothing and we can advise you on how to fix them!
Our monthly workshop series is about sharing tools, recipes and ideas to help reduce plastic consumption and promote sustainable living in our local neighbourhood of Poplar.
They will take place every 3rd Saturday of the month** at Poplar union from 10-11:30 am and will include all you need to know about Natural Cleaning, Upcycling and Plastic Free cooking.
Everyone is welcome, however, priority will be given to those who live within the Poplar area.
Plastic-free Poplar is a community-led project focused on reducing single-use plastic in and around Chrisp Street market in Poplar, East London. We will support the local community to take action and come together to create a planet-friendly action plan and find practical solutions for the day to day, to reduce plastic waste and carbon emissions in our neighbourhood.
